UX and UI Kits help designers in all kinds of ways, and at different stages in the design process. In this roundup I’ll show you some of the best-selling UX and UI kits available from Envato, to get you started wireframing, prototyping, and designing your next website or app.
What Are UX and UI Kits?
The following kits are a great way to get your design process rolling. They can serve as inspiration, a way to quickly present an idea to a client, or give you the bare bones for a full design. Usually available for Sketch, Adobe Illustrator and others, kits are provided in a logical way with artboards, styles, and symbols, to help you find and work with the elements you’re looking for.
Some are multipurpose and provide a huge number of elements, some are specifically for wireframing, others are more niche and cater for something like eCommerce, social media, maps and navigation, real estate, mobile UIs, whatever you care to name.
Supported Design Applications
Each kit listed here is compatible with at least one of the following, and usually more:
- Sketch
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe XD
- Figma
- InVision
Nowadays you can open a Sketch file in Sketch (obviously), Adobe XD, Figma, and InVision without any problems.
Adobe XD will also handle Photoshop files, keeping the artboards, layers, and assets as true to the original as possible.
Axure is a little less compliant with other file formats, but no matter what application a kit is made for there’s a good chance you’ll find it compatible with your design tool of choice.
Are UX and UI the Same?
The terms UX and UI are often used interchangeably. Whilst there’s some crossover, and the two do work together, they don’t mean the same thing.
If we refer to a UI kit, we’re talking about assets which can be used to design a user interface. This means designing the presentation, aesthetics, how a UI visually appears. Assets from a UX kit, on the other hand, would be used to design the experience of a website or app. Think wireframes and prototypes. The usability, the flow, the interaction between user and product.
UX and UI kits can serve both purposes, which is why they’re often collectively called “UX and UI Kits”.
UX and UI Kits on Envato
We have hundreds of UX and UI kits on Envato Market and on Envato Elements (where you can download as many as you want for one low price). Let’s look at some of the most popular!
The name says it all; Wireland is all about wireframing. It comes with over 200 predefined layouts, and there’s a certain amount of detail, giving you more than lo-fidelity, but the calm and uncluttered blue aesthetic is perfect for wireframes.
It includes a library of devices, markup elements for showing flow, uses symbols, and is based on Bootstrap’s familiar grid. Lastly, there’s even a free sample which you can download and try out before purchasing the full licensed version.
Laying out the userflow is a really important part of the design process. It happens early on, and it happens quickly. Website Userflow & Sitemap UX Kit has all the elements you might need to do this: a collection of screens and graphics for you to wireframe how users will move from one part of a website to another.
It has a dark and light version, depending on your preference, but that’s as complex as the visual decisions get. Grab some screens, throw them down, link them together!
Bolder is a UI kit which offers 65 super high quality mobile layouts, covering a range of niches such as social media, eCommerce, and blogging. Bolder has vibrance in swathes, and is organised practically with artboards, layers, symbols, and typographic styles, making it easy for any mobile UI designer to work with.
Kama is very specifically designed for iOS. It includes over 120 screens, giving app designers chart layouts, walkthroughs, eCommerce, multimedia, user profiles, navigation, and social media options to play around with, as well as 60 custom icons.
5. Farah (Sketch, XD, Figma)
Farah is seriously striking. It has 15 hi-fidelity mobile layouts, all fully cutomisable, and all with a very contemporary feel. It’s a relatively new addition to Envato Market, reflecting current demand for various design applications by catering specifically to Sketch, XD, and Figma users.
If you’re looking for bold and confident, this is a great look to apply to your designs.
MIGO is another bold and energetic design by hoangpts. This one is for a dating app, and will give your designs wild colours, gradients, and welcoming rounded warmth all over. It contains 22 high-quality iOS (ready for iPhoneX) screens, and is compatible with Sketch, XD, and Figma,
7. Stamp (Sketch)
Stamp is another hi-fidelity option, offering designers over 75 layout “cards”, built with more than a hundred different components.
Customise with Stamp, rather than build from scratch, and you’ll quickly have a complete and modern web design.
I like this one. Not least because that ultramarine really packs a punch coupled with the lime green. Again, this is hi-fidelity stuff, so it’s not so much for the UX design stage of a product, more about adding stylish veneer. With that said, it’s a strong (and very complete) veneer, offering 120+ components to use in your designs.
If you enjoy building your designs in Photoshop, Next Ecommerce gives you that choice. With 35 PSD + Sketch Files, there are plenty of mobile UI elements to play with.
10. Doom (Photoshop)
Another Photoshop option, Doom is a frankly huge UI kit. It gives you almost 100 PSD layouts, including homepages, inner pages, with all manner of niches covered, and is the first of our examples to include admin dashboard options.
Doom also includes a whole bunch of cryptocurrency site designs (if that’s your thing) so if you’re designing a landing page for the next big coin this is a great place to start!
Blokk is another Photoshop kit, providing a simple UI for the purpose of wireframing. Devoid of unnecessary detail, Blokk will help you make core decisions early on in the design process.
This is a very large collection, giving you 170+ UI cards, and demonstrating its range of elements with six sample pages. It offers the following (and more) components:
- Media gallery
- Features
- Call to Action
- Blog
- E-Commerce
- Testimonials
- Pricing Tables
- Analytics
