Is LimeWire still a thing? That’s a question just about everyone who used the internet from 2000 to 2010 has asked themselves. Whether you’re searching for some nostalgia or just found out about Limewire, you might be interested to learn about what happened to it! Let’s look at what happened to Limewire and answer the question, “Is LimeWire still a thing?”

What Happened to LimeWire?
LimeWire was a popular peer-to-peer file-sharing program during the 2000s. It allowed users to connect and share files with each other, which wasn’t always easy to do in the early days of the Internet. Now, they have entered the AI space with their new AI Studio—once again providing a user-friendly way to use new technology, create, and share.
How to Use LimeWire to Generate AI Images
Step 1
Go to LimeWire.com and choose AI Studio, found in the left sidebar.
Step 2
Choose which kind of content you’d like to generate. We’ll be focusing on generating an Image today.
Step 3
Choose your Model and type your image Prompt. I used the prompt: “Cat with a space helmet floating in a galaxy of stars.”
An image prompt is how you tell the AI what to create. Generally, the more specific the prompt, the better the results will be.
With LimeWire, you can also input a Negative Prompt. Describe any details you know you don’t want to appear in the image. In this case, I do not want a moon or sun to appear.
Step 4
Select the green Generate Image button to create your image.
Step 5
A unique feature of LimeWire is that you can earn up to 70% of the generated advertising revenue by sharing your artwork on the platform. Limewire has a native crypto token called LMWR, which they pay the revenue share out in.
That’s It!
Whether you’re looking to create generative images, music, or audio, LimeWire’s AI Studio has got you covered. Remember, the free account gives you 10 free credits a day, so if you’re looking for a platform to take your creative vision to the next level, be sure to check out LimeWire!
